Description
Built in 1962, the TK 46 was one of Grundig’s first quarter-track stereo recorders and it is almost identical to its half-track counterpart, the TK47.
With three heads (erase, record & playback) and three speeds (7½ ips, 3¾ ips and 17/8 ips),
the TK46 was much the same machine electronically as the TK 41 but with two of everything.
The twin in-built “Hi-Fi” speakers were satisfyingly adequate although lacked “stereo spatiality”, however external stereo speakers could be connected via extension sockets.
